Primient has earned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) ENERGY STAR® Certification for Superior Energy Efficiency at its manufacturing plants in Lafayette, IN, and Loudon, TN, for 2025. This designation places both plants among the top 25% of corn wet mills nationwide for energy performance and recognizes a commitment to industry‑leading environmental stewardship. In 2025, these two facilities are the only corn wet mills to receive this recognition in the U.S.

“Primient’s Lafayette facility has been recognized with ENERGY STAR certification, reflecting longstanding efforts to advance energy performance,” said Travis Montoya, Vice President, Wet Mill Operations with Primient. “This achievement is a direct result of our team's commitment to excellence. Over the years, we have focused on operational improvements that drive both business growth and energy efficiency.”

ENERGY STAR certified plants must meet strict energy efficiency benchmarks set by the EPA, demonstrating reduced energy use, lower emissions, and compliance with rigorous environmental standards.

“The Loudon facility continues its impressive trajectory, earning ENERGY STAR certification for the ninth consecutive year, extending a streak that began in 2017,” said Ed Hammann, Plant Manager with Primient. “At the Loudon plant, we diligently manage energy use on a daily basis, and we are always looking for ways to enhance our processes and operate more efficiently.”

ENERGY STAR was introduced by EPA in 1992 as a voluntary, market-based partnership to reduce emissions through energy efficiency. To date, tens of thousands of buildings and plants across all 50 states have earned the ENERGY STAR.
