Rooted in History with a Vision for Tomorrow

Little did A.E. (Gene) Staley know way back in 1906 that his foresight, ingenuity, and grit for the potential of agriculture would lead to our business today - a business focused on the future of plant-based, renewable innovation.

 

Founded as A.E. Staley Manufacturing Co. in Decatur, Illinois, then acquired in 1988 by leading global food and beverage solutions and ingredients provider Tate & Lyle, and now poised to lead the way as Primient, we remain inspired by our rich legacy as we lean into tomorrow with fresh perspectives.

 

Our colleagues, some of whom are second and third generation employees from the earliest of the Staley days, take pride in walking the halls of Gene Staley’s iconic art deco ‘Castle in the Cornfields’ in Decatur, Illinois, dreaming up the next big idea just like Staley.
